Steve Scavuzzo - director
Steve (Revere High School, 2003) and his wife Annie (Revere High School, 2002) live in Richfield with their three children, Vivian, Adeline, and Benjamin. Steve is Senior Legal Counsel for GOJO Industries in Akron where he serves as a lawyer and trusted business advisor to the company. Steve began his career as a mechanical engineer and is also a registered patent attorney.
Steve is passionate about the Revere community, and he and his wife are both actively involved in the district. In addition to his service to Revere Schools Foundation, Steve coaches many youth sports within the district and serves on the board of the Minutemen Takedown Club (Revere’s wrestling club).
Steve holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Akron and a J.D. from The University of Akron School of Law. When not working, Steve enjoys working outside, running, and spending time with his family.
Courtney Stein – Vice President
Courtney and her husband moved to the Revere School District in time for their oldest daughter to begin kindergarten. Revere’s excellent reputation drew them here, and they have been so pleased with the education their daughters have received. Currently, they have 2 teenage daughters who will be graduating in 2022 and 2025.
Courtney has taken an active role at the schools enjoying time as PTA President of both Hillcrest & Bath Elementary Schools and Revere Middle School. She has also volunteered in various ways for her girls' countless extracurricular activities. These roles have offered great opportunities to build relationships with the staff and students her kids engage with daily. A former school teacher and graduate of John Carroll University, Courtney runs her own direct sales business and is happiest when spending time with her husband and girls.
Mark Lapikas – Treasurer
Mark and his wife, Ashley, have lived in the Revere school district since 2011. They have two daughters who will be part of the Revere High School classes of 2032 and 2035. In addition to serving as Treasurer of the Revere School Foundation, Mark is the Treasurer of several other nonprofit organizations.
Mark is a CPA with Eide Bailly, where he serves as a trusted business advisor working with clients on business and personal tax planning matters. In addition, Mark serves as a mentor to staff helping with their professional and personal development.
A dual graduate of The University of Akron, Mark earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and a Master in Taxation. Mark also received an MBA from Ohio University. Outside of work, Mark enjoys sporting events, golfing, and spending time with his family.
Emily Addessi - secretary
Emily and her husband Matt have lived in the Revere School District for the last 8 years. Emily has always been passionate about volunteering and helping within the schools wherever possible. She has served as President of the PTA at Bath Elementary and has continued to volunteer regularly in the Revere schools and on the PTA Boards. She is currently serving as Vice President at RHS. She has a daughter at Revere High School and a son at Bath Elementary.
Emily has a Masters Degree in Social Work and worked on both the inpatient and outpatient psychiatric units at Aultman Hospital for 10 years providing individual, group, and family therapy to patients in mental health crisis. She maintains her LISW licensure.
She enjoys the mental health arena and would love to combine her passions in the future, using animals for mental health therapy. Her family includes a rescued Belgian Draft horse and a Labrador retriever. Emily’s hobbies include gardening, hiking, horses, and everything outdoors with her family.
Tim Militzer
Tim has lived in the Revere school district since 2009 with his wife, and their son. When able, Tim volunteers with his son’s sports, and both he and his wife are taking an active role in the school district by volunteering in the classroom and around the District.
In his career, Tim has worked as a design engineer in a small company, as a leader in a large company managing engineers over 5 states, leading a startup manufacture in the data center industry and is currently working as an Operations Manager in the Charter School space. In each company that he works in, he strives to be the best leader he can while meeting company goals.
A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Tim earned a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree. Tim enjoys staying active and has participated in many marathons and triathlons – one of which was completing the Ironman Triathlon in Lake Placid, NY. For many years he has supported the efforts of Elves & More of Northeast Ohio and is active in the St. Hilary Parish.
Jason DiLauro
Jason began his Investment and Advisory career with Merrill Lynch in 1994. He later founded DiLauro Financial Services in 2009, which then became The Wealth Advisory Group of DiLauro Wracher & Thomas in 2015. His focus is on advising and assisting individuals and business owners with their financial planning needs.
Continually helping to improve our community is a priority for Jason. Acting as the founding president of the Revere Schools Foundation, and Vice President of the College of Businesses Marketing Board at the University of Akron, Jason creates scholarship and job opportunities for local students. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Akron, and earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation, while maintaining Series 7, 63, 65, 9 and 10 licenses.
When not at work Jason enjoys golf, fitness, coaching youth sports, and spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their children, Isabella, Amilio, and Enzo.
Kara buckler
Kara is a Northeast Ohio native and Senior Director of Creative & Design at the J.M. Smucker Co. During her tenure at Smucker, Kara has developed a passion for leading high-performance teams and amplifying a culture of creativity. She is a member of the Company’s Leadership Team, Marketing Mentorship Steering Committee, Internship Advisory Council and is Executive Sponsor of the Young Professionals ERG. Kara is active on a number of Boards throughout the greater Akron region and is a Leadership Akron Signature Program graduate.
Kara holds a BA in Fine Arts and Business from The University of Mount Union and an MBA from Ashland University. She and her husband live in Bath with their three daughters. Kara enjoys traveling, art, photography and supporting her girls in Revere youth sports.
Jennifer burke
Jennifer graduated from Revere High School in 1989 and is a proud Marching Minutemen alumnus. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with concentrations in Business and Science from Grove City College and is a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter.
Jennifer has held a variety of product development and management roles in the insurance industry for both traditional insurance carriers and insurtech companies. She and her husband moved to the district from Massachusetts in 2014, in part to raise their three children in Northeast Ohio and Revere schools.
In addition to her role on the RSF board, Jennifer serves as the Revere representative on the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center board of education. She is passionate about preparing children for their future careers. She also loves hiking with her family, traveling and crocheting amigurumi.
Greg Amend
Greg is a Shareholder with the law firm of Buckingham Doolittle & Burroughs LLC and serves as a lawyer and trusted business advisor to his clients, which include a wide array of businesses, business owners and individuals.
Greg and his wife, Morgan (Revere High School, 1999), live in the Revere School District with their two daughters, the oldest of which attends Hillcrest Elementary. He received his B.A. from Bowling Green State University and his J.D. from the Syracuse College of Law.
In addition to his service to Revere Schools Foundation, Greg is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Summit County Republican party, an Alumni Advisor to the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity at Bowling Green State University and a member of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Northern Ohio Chapter.
Leigh Ann Swartz
Leigh Ann and her husband Aaron have three boys in the Revere School district. Twin boys Cameron and Aiden will enter 5th grade at Bath this fall, their youngest son Ben will be in second at Richfield. Prior to having children Leigh Ann was the head volleyball coach at the University of Mount Union for 9 seasons.
She now is an Executive Recruiter with Action Management Services based in Independence, Ohio. She joined the RSF board in the spring of 2022, and is passionate about helping the organization provide additional safety measures in our buildings. Leigh Ann helps chair the Illuminate event which is RSF’s primary fundraiser.
Scott Jonda
Scott, Tanya, Annelise and Griffin moved into the Revere Community in 2016 from Washington D.C. as Scott was retiring from the US Army after 28 years of service.
Scott currently is employed by Valiant Integrated Services and designs large scale training exercises for the Army National Guard and Tanya is the Executive Director of Ohio's largest pet rescue, One of A Kind Pets. Annelise is now a Senior at Revere and Griffin is a Sophomore at St Vincent-St Mary HS. They also have two older daughters who went to high school in Virginia and graduated from The Ohio State University. Scott holds a Bachelor's in National Security Policy from The Ohio State University as well as Masters degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College and an MBA from Trident University. Tanya holds Bachelor and Master's degrees from Colorado Technical University in Accounting.
Scott and Tanya are active in the community with Scott previously serving as President of Revere Baseball & Softball Association for 5 years and Tanya running an endless stream of fundraising and community engagement events for the rescue.
