Our Mission


The Revere Foundation is an independent, non-profit community organization whose mission is to Promote, Produce and Protect. Your support of the Foundation will impact all students in the Revere Local School District as we work with the District to Promote experiential learning through teacher grants to enhance the students’ education with 21st century learning opportunities, Produce leaders through scholarships and after school leadership programs and Protect our kids through safety awareness programs. 

Board Members:

Jason DiLauro – President

Jason began his InvesDilaurotment and Advisory career with Merrill Lynch in 1994. He later founded DiLauro Financial Services in 2009, which then became The Wealth Advisory Group of DiLauro Wracher & Thomas in 2015. His focus is on advising and assisting individuals and business owners with their financial planning needs.

Continually helping to improve our community is a priority for Jason. Acting as the founding president of the Revere Schools Foundation, and Vice President of the College of Businesses Marketing Board at the University of Akron, Jason creates scholarship and job opportunities for local students. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Akron, and earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation, while maintaining Series 7, 63, 65, 9 and 10 licenses.

When not at work Jason enjoys golf, fitness, coaching youth sports, and spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their children, Isabella, Amilio, and Enzo.

Courtney Stein – Vice President

Courtney and her husband have lived in the Revere School District for 8 years. RevCourtney Steinere’s excellent reputation drew them here, and they have been so please with the education their daughters are receiving. Currently, they have a 6th grader at Revere Middle School and a 3rd grader at Hillcrest Elementary.

Courtney has taken an active role at the schools enjoying time as PTA President of both Hillcrest and Bath Elementary Schools. Being a part of the PTA has offered great opportunities to volunteer inside of the classroom and build relationships with the staff and students her kids engage with daily. A former school teacher and graduate of John Carroll University, Courtney enjoys being home with her kids and volunteering her time at the schools and her church.


Mark Lapikas – Treasurer

Mark and his wife, Ashley, have lived in the Revere school district since 2011.  They have two young daughters who will be part of the Revere High School classes of 2032 and 2035. In addition to serving as Treasurer of the Revere School Foundation, Mark is also Treasurer of his homeowners association.

Mark is a CPA with Apple Growth Partners, where he serves as a trusted business advisor working with clients on business and personal tax planning matters.  Mark leads the tax practice at Apple Growth Partners and works with staff members on their career development.

A dual graduate of The University of Akron, Mark earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and a Master in Taxation.  Mark also received an MBA from Ohio University.  Outside of work, Mark enjoys sporting events, playing golf, and spending time with his wife and daughters.

Matt Montgomery

Matt Montgomery1Matt served as Superintendent at Waterloo Schools for the 13/14 and 14/15 school years. Prior to that, he was the High School/Middle School Principal from February 2013 through July 2013 and the Middle School Principal for the 11/12 school year through January of 2013.

Mr. Montgomery served in a Principal Internship at Canfield Schools where he previously taught Biology, Anatomy/Physiology, and Physical Science from 2006-2011.

He is an active member of local, state and national education and leadership organizations. He has served on a variety of committees for BASA, GCSSA, AASA, insurance consortiums, building leadership teams, teacher’s union and many other groups. As a teacher he was a National Honor Society Advisor and Assistant Drama Director.

Matt lives in Bath with his wife of 10 years, Blayna, and his four children. Two of his children are school age and attend Hillcrest Elementary School.

Greg Amend

Greg-AmendGreg is a Shareholder with the law firm of Buckingham Doolittle & Burroughs LLC and serves as a lawyer and trusted business advisor to his clients, which include a wide array of businesses, business owners and individuals.
Greg and his wife, Morgan (Revere High School, 1999), live in the Revere School District with their two daughters, the oldest of which attends Hillcrest Elementary.
He received his B.A. from Bowling Green State University and his J.D. from the Syracuse College of Law.
In addition to his service to Revere Schools Foundation, Greg is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Summit County Republican party, an Alumni Advisor to the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity at Bowling Green State University and a member of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Northern Ohio Chapter.


Michele Hoza

Michele HozaMichele and her husband have lived in the Revere School District for over 15 years. They have a daughter at Bath Elementary and a son at Hillcrest Elementary. Michele enjoys volunteering inside and outside of the classroom as well as in the various extracurricular activities of their children. She is also involved with Junior Achievement. In her personal time, Michele enjoys tennis, reading and hiking.

Michele is an attorney at the law firm of Kohrman Jackson & Krantz in Cleveland, Ohio. She focuses her practice on securities law and general corporate law matters. She represents publicly-traded companies in a range of transactions as well as start-up and emerging growth businesses guiding them through formation, fundraising and growth. Michele received her B.A. from Kent State University and her J.D. from Cleveland State University – Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.

Tim Militzer

Tim MilitzerTim has lived in the Revere school district since 2009 with his wife, and their son, who started Kindergarten in 2015. When able, Tim volunteers with his son’s sports, and both he and his wife are taking an active role in the school district by volunteering in the classroom and with the PTA.

Tim has a passion for leadership and invests time in studying how to become a better leader, not only in his professional career but also in his family and the activities he participates. In his career, Tim has climbed the corporate ladder, but is currently working as a real estate investor and started a Real Estate University to teach students how to Find, Fund and Flip Real Estate.

A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Tim earned a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree. Tim enjoys staying active and has participated in many marathons and triathlons – one of which was completing the Ironman Triathlon in Lake Placid, NY. For many years he has supported the efforts of Elves & More of Northeast Ohio.

Zach Mellion

Zach MellionZach is a 1998 graduate of Revere High School and very proud of the education he received through the Revere Schools. Zach attended Case Western Reserve University for his undergraduate and dental education before completing his orthodontic residency at Saint Louis University.

Zach owns Mellion Orthodontics with his father and brother and is very committed to giving back to the community. He is the Programming Chair for the Emerging Leaders Board at Akron Children’s Hospital, serves on the executive committee for the Akron Dental Society, teaches at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Dental Medicine and serves on the board for the Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation at Saint Louis University.

Zach and his wife, Keira, a veterinarian, live in Bath and have three young children. Zach loves cycling and racing cyclocross. He and his family love to bike and hike in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and travel to new places.

Julie Gulley

Julie attended Miami University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in December 1990. She began her teaching career in Cincinnati Public Schools where she taught at South Avondale Elementary for 3 1/2 years. In 1994 her family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she taught 3rd grade at Harambee Community School for one year. Her family moved back to Ohio in 1995 where Julie spent the next 12 years teaching in Stow City Schools at Lakeview Intermediate School. Julie completed her Masters in Administration at the University of Akron in 2005.

Her first administrative position was in Norton City Schools as the principal at Norton Cornerstone Elementary school (K-4) from 2008-2014. Julie was fortunate to join the Revere Local School District in the fall of 2014 as the principal at Hillcrest Elementary. She is also a member of Kid4Kids, the Revere PowerPak and an active member of OAESA and other principal leadership groups. Julie resides with her husband, Richard, son, Thomas and their two dogs in Kent, Ohio.


Rick Berdine

Rick became treasurer of Revere Local Schools and a member of the Board of Directors of the Revere Schools Foundation on August 1, 2017, having previously served as treasurer at five other Northeast Ohio school districts for more than 30 years. He is also employed as treasurer since August 1, 2015 for Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, a career-technical school district of which Revere Schools is one of eight associate districts. Rick earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration with a concentration in management from Youngsto

wn State University.

During his non-working time, Rick and his wife, Sherri, enjoy spending time with their four daughters, son-in-law, and three grandchildren. He is an avid sports fan who attends numerous professional, college, and high school sporting events each year, and collects sports memorabilia.
